CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Moss Construction is pleased to announce the completion of the $134 million University of Miami Lakeside Village student housing.

The 569,441 square-foot, seven-story project includes 25 interconnected buildings and several outdoor spaces. In addition to providing housing for 1,115 students, Lakeside Village features classrooms, music rooms, study areas, recreation rooms, a 200-seat auditorium and offices.  The buildings also have food options, a package center and an exhibition hall.

“We’re thrilled and humbled the University of Miami chose Moss to manage and complete the construction of Lakeside Village,” said Brett Atkinson, South Florida co-president of Moss. “We take great satisfaction in helping provide students with modern housing that includes so many unique amenities.”

To support sustainability initiatives, the village includes green roofs that absorb carbon dioxide to help clean the air and help regulate the climate. Also, existing plant life was evaluated and, when possible, integrated into the landscape or located elsewhere on campus and in the surrounding area.

Miami company Arquitectonica served as the architect for the project.
