TAMPA, Fla. – On March 7, Moss Construction celebrated the official groundbreaking of Nova Southeastern University’s new $73.5 million Dr. Kiran C. Patel College of Osteopathic Medicine, in Clearwater.
The school will be located at 3400 Gulf to Bay Blvd. and is part of a $225 million philanthropic gift from Tampa-area Cardiologist Dr. Kiran C. Patel and his wife, Pediatrician Dr. Pallavi Patel.
“We are honored that the Patels have entrusted us with this important project, which will serve the Tampa Bay community and all of Florida,” said John Bowden, senior vice president of Moss. “Moss has a broad portfolio of successful education projects, including complex university research centers. We are excited to bring all of our experience to this project and make this new state-of-the-art facility a welcomed addition to Nova Southeastern University.”
Designed by Baker Barrios, the 325,000 square-foot medical education complex is being developed by the Patels and will house NSU’s Dr. Kiran C. Patel College of Osteopathic Medicine and Dr. Pallavi Patel College of Health Care Sciences, as well as the university’s existing programs in the Tampa area.
Foundation work began in January, and the project is scheduled to be completed summer of 2019.
