Harbourside Place Named 2015 Project of the Year by ULI

(West Palm Beach, Fla. – Sept. 16, 2015) International planning, architecture, engineering, and interiors firm LEO A DALY received a Project of the Year award from the Urban Land Institute (ULI) for Harbourside Place, a 9-acre mixed-use development in Jupiter, Florida.

With planning and construction that spanned more than a decade, Harbourside Place opened amid celebrations in fall 2014. Jupiter’s new waterfront shopping, dining, and entertainment center was developed by Allied Capital & Development of South Florida.

Combining a Wyndham Grand Hotel and Class A office space with restaurants, retail, a marina, an outdoor amphitheater, and plenty of parking, this 9-acre, multi-use project has added more than a half-million dollars to the local property tax base. Its complex financing package included a successful EB5 component.

Two, four, and five-story buildings reflect a rich mixture of massing, color, and detail, creating the impression of a “village developed over time,” according to Paul Twitty, AIA, Executive Director of LEO A DALY West Palm Beach.

The picturesque waterfront scenery surrounding the property was the inspiration for the four-star resort Wyndham Grand Jupiter, which anchors the development. Fantastic views greet guests from the moment they walk through the door, and an open floor plan gives unobstructed views of the waterway and beyond. The hotel’s orientation along the waterway creates an intimate, natural feel that is complemented by LEO A DALY’s sophisticated, timeless architectural and interior design.

A link with Jupiter’s Riverwalk connects the development to 2.5 miles of ADA-compliant trail along the Intracoastal Waterway and Jupiter Inlet. The marina gives waterfront access to boaters.

“Harbourside is really a true urban gem and a destination for the community. It has everything—entertainment food, hotel, music—even a restaurant by Tiger Woods,” Twitty added.

Additional firms critical to the project’s planning and implementation were Gentile Glas Holloway O’Mahoney + Associate, Thomas Engineering, ONM&J, Isiminger & Stubbs, and Moss & Associates.
