Moss Named Best General Contractor at 2025 NAIOP ‘Best of the Best’ Awards

TAMPA BAY, Fla. – Moss, a top-ranked national construction management firm, announced today that it has been recognized as Best General Contractor at the 2025 NAIOP Best of the Best Awards.

In March, the Tampa Bay chapter of NAIOP, a leading organization for developers, owners and investors of office, industrial, retail and mixed-use real estate, awarded Moss Best General Contractor during a ceremony held at Raymond James Stadium.

Moss’ Mid-Florida division achieved significant milestones in 2025, including the completion of Opal Sol Luxury Resort & Spa, a 16-story, 680,000-square-foot luxury resort in Clearwater Beach. Moss also celebrated the topping-out of The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Sarasota Bay, a landmark tower reshaping the downtown Sarasota skyline; Life Time, an 86,000-square-foot athletic country club in Lakewood Ranch; and the trophy office tower in the Gasworx district in Ybor City.

Moss currently has nine active projects in the Tampa Bay region. At the end of 2025, Moss strengthened its Mid-Florida presence by acquiring Ellison Construction, a Tampa-based, family-owned construction firm. Through the acquisition, Moss added several projects to its portfolio, including the Murphy Health and Wellness Center at the historic Academy of the Holy Names in Tampa and the repurposing of a 28,000-square-foot warehouse into a marketplace in the heart of the Gasworx district that will feature restaurants, market-style offerings and unique retail.

The NAIOP Best General Contractor award is the latest example of Moss’ recognition for its work. In 2025, Moss received Project of the Year from the Associated Builders and Contractors Gulf Coast Chapter for its work on The St. Regis Resort and Residences in Longboat Key. The company also received two Excellence in Construction awards for JW Marriott Clearwater Beach Resort & Spa and Benchmark International Arena.

In 2026, Moss is scheduled to complete the office tower at Gasworx, The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Sarasota Bay, and Life Time in Lakewood Ranch. Work will continue on ONE Tampa, a 42-story luxury residential tower in downtown Tampa, and Olivette, a 376-unit apartment community that will serve as the largest building in the current phase of the Gasworx redevelopment project.

Additionally, Moss broke ground this month on Clearwater Bluffs, a 400-unit, 620,000-square-foot apartment tower bordering the southeastern edge of Coachman Park in Clearwater.
