Quality Control Technician

Position Summary  

 

The Quality Control Technician is responsible for performing on-site quality control inspections to ensure compliance with engineering plans, project specifications, company standards, and client expectations. This role supports successful project execution, warranty protection, and project turnover by maintaining accurate documentation, conducting walkthroughs, identifying deficiencies, and communicating project status updates with internal teams and client representatives. 

 

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-focused, and capable of working collaboratively in a fast-paced construction environment. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

 

Quality Control & Inspection  

 

• Perform daily on-site inspections to verify work complies with approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards 

• Identify deficiencies, incomplete work, and non-conformance issues and communicate corrective actions to project teams 

• Track and manage punch list items through completion and closeout 

• Conduct walkthroughs with project managers, subcontractors, clients, and leadership teams 

• Support successful project turnover by ensuring all quality requirements are completed and documented to project systems 

• Monitor workmanship and materials to ensure adherence to company and client standards 

 

Documentation & Reporting  

• Maintain detailed inspection reports, quality logs, and project documentation 

• Document field observations, corrective actions, and completion status of outstanding items 

• Assist with preparation and organization of closeout documentation and turnover packages 

• Utilize Procore and other project management systems to track outstanding quality items and project status 

• Provide timely updates to project leadership regarding inspection findings and project progress 

 

Safety & Compliance  

 

• Adhere to company and site-specific safety policies and procedures 

• Identify and report potential safety hazards observed during inspections 

• Participate in site safety meetings and support overall project safety initiatives 

• Ensure all work complies with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements 

 

Communication & Coordination  

 

• Serve as a key point of contact for client representatives during inspections and walkthroughs 

• Coordinate with field teams, subcontractors, and project leadership to resolve quality concerns 

• Support collaboration between construction, electrical leadership, and operations teams 

• Maintain professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders 

 

Qualifications 

 

• High school diploma or GED required; technical training or construction-related education preferred 

• Experience in construction quality control, electrical construction, commissioning, or related field preferred 

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and construction documents • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail 

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint or similar project tracking systems 

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment 

• OSHA certifications or other safety certifications preferred 

 

Physical Requirements  

 

• Ability to walk active construction sites for extended periods 

• Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and work in varying site conditions 

• Ability to use tools such as but not limited to tape measures, levels, torque wrenches. 

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally 

• Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions 

 

Work Environment  

 

• Active commercial and industrial construction sites 

• Combination of field and office responsibilities 

 

May require occasional overtime, weekends, and travel required based on project needs
