Solar Preconstruction Internship: Fall 2025
- Location: Fort Lauderdale, FL (On-site, 5 days/week)
- Eligibility: Expected graduation within next two years
Position Summary: Moss & Associates is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Solar Preconstruction Intern to join our Fort Lauderdale office. This internship offers hands-on experience supporting the preconstruction management phase of solar projects, with exposure to contract management, bidding process, and cross-functional team collaboration.
The ideal candidate is pursuing a degree in either:
- Business Administration
- Construction Management
- Economics
- Finance
- Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Civil Engineering
- Sustainability Built Environment
Key Responsibilities:
Support Bid and Pricing Processes: Assist in tracking pricing changes, developing bid packages, and managing pricing impacts from owner-driven or design changes.
Facilitate Early-Stage Project Documentation: Coordinate and compare key contract documents (including SOWs, LNTPs, contractual exhibits), ensuring clarity and alignment across stakeholders.
Collaborate on Contract and Legal Reviews: Engage with legal and project management teams to support SOW mapping, exhibit reviews, and document redlining.
Contribute to Project Negotiations: Participate in internal and external meetings, assist with owner communications, and support contract negotiations.
Drive Meeting and Communication Efficiency: Document and distribute meeting minutes; support early-stage meetings with internal and external teams.
Assist in Project Turnover and Operations Transition: Help organize and lead turnover-to-operations meetings, ensuring all project teams are aligned for execution.
Weekly reporting: Assist in internal reporting to cross-functional groups.
Required Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree in the fields of study listed above.
- Graduation date between within the next two years.
- Must reside in the South Florida area and be able to work on-site in Fort Lauderdale, FL, five days a week. Housing assistance is provided to non-local candidates.
- Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Demonstrated interest in renewable energy or construction industries.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior internship or project experience in construction or preconstruction is a plus.
- Familiarity with contract documents and construction terminology.
